"Which world famous rock star pays rent boys for special lewd and lacivious acts? What former popular straight punk stud got busted by Debbie Harry getting blown by a guy? Answers to questions like these and many more are answered in punk legend Jayne County's tell-all one woman show at Joe's Pub on February 12th and 13th at 9:30 pm. Backed by Fisherman's Xylophonic Orchestra, Ms County will talk about her days growing up transexual in the South, "wrecking" straights on the streets of Atlanta in her teens, her wild days as a showgirl with Romy Haag in Berlin, the early days of punk in New York and London in the 60's and 70's and her experiences at Stonewall- and hear those stories that she was banned from telling in her book- "Man Enough to be a Woman". School is about to begin and the headmistress is not amused!!"

5th February: More information regarding Jayne's one woman show - "Jayne County Tells All" at Joe's pub. She'll be backed by a full band and will be telling stories from her life interspersed with songs. From what I'm told the show is roughly chronological and opens with "Max's" with Jayne appearing with coke all over her nose and puking on someone. Songs featured also include "Tomorrow is Another Day", "When Queens Collide", "Nimrod was a Motherfucker" and "Fuck Off".

5th February: For anyone in New York and not attending Jayne's show (are you mad!!!) there is apparently a tribute to Jayne also taking place on February 12th: The following is from Daniel Nardicio: - "Daniel Nardicio and Tangle bring you: Hormone: A Tranny Tribute to Jayne County. Extra tracks by artists such as Marc Almond & The Strokes are rumoured. The track featuring Jayne "Help The Homeless" is possibly to be released as a single backed by a Jayne version of "Lookin For A Kiss". Proceeds from this would go to the charity Centrepoint.

22nd February: Warren is currently looking to re-mix and re-package further Jayne product. He would more than welcome offers of collaborations from established producers. If you're interested contact him via the "Mail Me" link on the site.

22nd February: Starting soon unreleased Jayne mixes will be made available to download from the site for a limited period of one month each. This will take the form of a track each month. Watch this space for further details or join the mailing list for updates and notification of new tracks being uploaded.

17th March: Apparently Jayne may be recording a cover version of "Paint It Black" with the band Church Of Betty. She has performed this with them previously. 17th March: Rupert Smith tells me that Jayne has a new evening look of black hair & black Cleopatra eye make-up. No pics to display of this yet I'm afraid.

22nd March: A remastered version of "Night Time" will be included on the "Punk Aid" album which is scheduled for release in the U.K. on May 27th. The album will feature 38 tracks in all by artists such as Tom Robinson, Gold Blade, The Cardiacs, 999 and GBH. Remastering of the track will take place this weekend. Thanks to Tim at Punk Aid for these details.

24th March: Last night saw the broadcast on BBC Radio2 in the UK of part one of a documentary on punk in the USA. Part two is on next Saturday (30th) at 8pm to 9pm and covers the years 1970 to 1978. I'm not sure if Jayne will be included but give it a listen. The presenter is Craig Leon so if anyone out there fancies dropping the BBC a line re Jayne try the e-mail address: radio2.enquiries@bbc.co.uk . Help make sure that the BBC give Jayne the credit she's due.

24th March: As mentioned on the messageboard there is a lot of effort being made at present to get Jayne over to the UK to play and also to raise her profile. Anything people can do to raise Jayne's profile would help.

26th March: More news on the Church Of Betty CD release party on April 3rd at The Bottom Line in New York. There are two shows (7:30 & 10:30) and Jayne will perform "Paint It Black". Tickets are $15. See Church Of Betty site for further information.

5th April: The UK press seem to be recognising Jayne's talents at present. This month she is featured in an article about CBGB's in Q magazine, an article about the greatest rock excess stories in Bizarre magazine and she also got a mention in an article about Sting and the Police in Uncut magazine last month. Nice to see her getting some recognition.

17th April: "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night" by Wayne County is featured on the new compilation CD "CBGB's & THE BIRTH OF U.S. PUNK" which has just been released in the UK.

17th April: Next months exclusive download will be "Brainwashed" re-mixed by Brother Johny Skullknuckles of Manchester punk supergroup Goldblade.

6th June: Jayne will be out and about at various events over the next few weeks. Jayne will host a semi regular event at CBGBs called homocorps, on Saturday June 8th. On Wednesday, June 12th Jayne will host a benefit for the Joey Ramone Lymphoma fund at Don Hill's in Manhattan. It's a party to celebrate the release of the new Ramones tribute CD issued by Radical Records in Manhattan. Bearing in mind the sad announcement today of the death of Dee Dee Ramone I'd check details on this over the next few days if you're thinking of attending. Jayne will also be involved in a monthly 'Fun with Dick and Jayne' night at Manitoba's in downtown Manhattan, owned by Dick Manitoba himself. Check the venue for details.

9th June: The Glammy Awards took place on 2nd June and Jayne received her Living Legend Award. Janet Planet has kindly supplied photos of the event.

25th August: Jayne is apparently going to be teaming up with Lisa Jackson for a two girl show which they have already test ran with great results.

19th September: There have been rumours of UK shows in November circulating recently. These shows are not happening and were never actually confirmed. Jayne had not agreed to these shows so it's certainly not a case of Jayne letting anyone down. As for the venues concerned I believe they were acting in good faith too so hopefully nobody will lay the blame at their door either. The best explanation I can give is that there was a breakdown in communications. I'm told Jayne does plan to visit the UK in the not too distant future but as I've said before don't believe any rumours until you've had confirmation of shows via this site.

23rd September: Jayne has been doing shows around NYC with another artist from Georgia called Lisa Jackson. They have been performing as G.O.T. (Girls On Top). The shows are apparently very trashy and very funny, with Lisa as the "straight" one and Jayne providing the comedy. Jayne's also been DJing and performing at Manitoba's, the bar owned by Dick Manitoba.

23rd September: Jayne has been working again with Eliot Michaels from the Backstreet Boys/Electric Chairs. They plan to go into the studio to record some really filthy rock & roll including a recording of "Queenage Baby". A show is also being planned as Jayne County & the Electric Chairs feat Eliot Michaels, at Don Hills.

23rd September: A documentary by Dean Lance largely about Jayne's life, "Down There: Aesthetics and Sexuality on the Lower East Side", has been shown a few times on cable stations in Manhattan recently (primarily Manhattan Neighborhood Network) and is apparently due for transmission on PBS. The documentary is a re-edit of a larger piece which Dean is working on entitled "Stick It In Me! (You Are Entering Jayne County)".

29th September: The show planned at Don Hills in New York with Eliot Michaels will take place on November 22nd.

29th September: Jayne tells me she will be playing in the U.K. in March 2003. No dates as yet but watch this space.

May 9th: Jayne will DJ and be a guest vocalist with the Toilet Boys at Don Hills' SqueezeBox (Address: 511 Greenwich Street. Phone: 212-219-2850) Anniversary show on Friday May 18th. Expect plenty of NY rock scene superstars popping up all night long.

July 17th: Jayne hosted a benefit night for Cyrinda Foxe on the 11th July at CBGB's. Peter Crowley informs me that Jayne stole the show with her rendition of the Rolling Stones "Paint It Black" which she performed with the band Church Of Betty. The benefit was to raise money for Cyrinda who has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Co-host at the event was Penny Arcade.
